Description

Inspired by one of my most favorite hymns, “This is My Father’s World” by Maltbie D. Babcock, I think Anne Shirley would have loved its admiration of nature as God’s handiwork, too. I am drawn to this particular verse, though, because of its comfort and promise- that the Lord reigns and will seek justice for all the wrong in this world and that’s done to His children.

Evil and suffering can seem to be winning, and God can seem to not be doing anything. But that’s not the truth. We can’t see the full picture but we can know God. We can learn of His character and goodness and trustworthiness; and rest assured that He will do whatever He says, because of that sure knowledge of who He is and what He has done in the past.
